The result, time to attach the accessories and other things
I used an old set (from the 60s!) of Chevy valve covers that were wrapped in plastic to shield the valves from paint while removing the danger of messing up my beautiful valve cover paint job.
Remember: always have good ventilation (a door + fan worked for me); and if you are painting a bunch, wear a mask!

I'm too busy to drive over to my grandparent's garage, pull the masking off, and take pictures. Calc class demands my time, also I'm lazy because Murica.

I thought you were gonna paint it Pontiac blue! But to each his own.

In 1978 GM got rid of Pontiac Blue and introduced GM corporate blue. Since I am building a 1978 car, I chose to use the GM blue. It is saddening that is is nowhere near as pretty as Pontiac blue.

Ok, didn't know that. And yes, the silvery shimmer or Pontiac blue is too beautiful for words. Someone seriously needs to paint a whole car in that color.

That's a good idea! This one is pretty close.

Nah, it's just the angle. The '70-'73 Trans Am blue is darker, like if you mixed Pontiac and GM blue.

Darn, stupid lighting tricks! Here's a timeline of all the Pontiac blues, I had no idea there were that many. http://www.pontiacpower.org/enginecolor.ht…

Yeah, that car is more of a 75-77 blue (in that timeline you posted).
